2014 Jeep Wrangler – The Jeep Wrangler is arguably older than anything beyond pickup trucks, tracing its roots to military duty 70 years ago. Wrangler has been modernized with a contemporary engine, electronics inside and underneath, and the body panels are now artfully curved for stiffness while appearing flat. The current-generation Wrangler was introduced as a 2007 model. All 2014 Wranglers are powered by Chrysler’s 24-valve 3.6-liter V6, here rated at 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. There’s a choice of 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmission. Safety equipment on all models includes electronic stability control with roll mitigation, hill start assist, trailer sway control, all-speed traction control, ABS with brake assist and dual frontal airbags. The Jeep Wrangler is surprisingly smooth and sophisticated, given its amazing off-road capability.
We feel the greatest part of Jeep ownership is that you can leave it stock or install and almost unlimited amount of upgrades to meet your taste. Some are mild, some are wild and some like this example are right in the middle. Of course the trick is to find a Wrangler like this one that someone poured far more than the asking price into building. This Jeep came to us from a local customer who owns a successful paint/body business and several high end vehicles. With an open budget and the obvious skills to perform the task, they set out to build a fun weekend Jeep that would definitely turn some heads. The most noticable of the modifications is the $4k custom chrome red wrap that is truly stunning.
