Description

2009 Chevy Corvette ZR1 – Chevrolet had been working on a high-end Corvette to slot above the Z06 as GM’s hottest sports car for some time. The car was known as the Blue Devil and the Corvette SS, but when it arrived in dealers showrooms it was the next incarnation of the ZR1. Power is phenomenal! GM had a target of at least 620 horsepower and 595 pound-feet of torque. The ZR1 is capable of reaching 200 mph and cornering at better than 1 g of lateral grip. The heart of the beast is a supercharged version of GM’s 6.2-liter V8 known as LS9. It is the first ever supercharger in a Corvette. While the 1990-95 Corvette ZR1 used a dual-overhead cam, 32-valve V8, this engine will feature overhead valves and two valves per cylinder. The LS9’s Eaton Roots-type supercharger will provide 10.5 pounds of boost and use a liquid-to-air charge intercooler. Like the Corvette Z06, the ZR1 has a dry sump oiling system that allows for a lower center of gravity. The engine is mated to a new Tremec six-speed manual transmission with a twin-disc clutch to better handle the LS9’s torque output. The ZR1’s suspension is similar as in other Corvettes, but features thicker front and rear stabilizer bars and springs that are slightly softer than those of the Z06. GM’s Magnetic Selective Ride Control (MSRC) is standard on the ZR1. Like the Z06, the ZR1 is only offered in a hatchback body style with a fixed top. The front fenders, hood, roof panel, roof bow, front fascia splitter, and rocker moldings are made of carbon fiber. All except the top of the hood will be exposed-weave carbon fiber protected by a clear coat. The fenders have dual ports on each side instead of the single port design of other Corvettes. The hood features a clear polycarbonate window to show off the intercooler, which is adorned with “LS9 SUPERCHARGED” lettering.

If you are in the market for a ZR1 you are already aware of everything that make it the amazing American sportscar that it is. The strong points of this particular example are that it is presented in the highly popular Cyber Gray Metallic, it has less than 21k miles since new, and it had a new brand transmission/clutch installed by GM at 16k miles. This ZR1 is very original with the addition of an upgraded suspension, upgraded exhaust, and optional shoulder harness seat belts. It drives perfect and has no imperfections to note. Features and options include; Supercharged LS9 (6.2L), 6 Speed, RWD, A/C, Front Airbags, Side Curtain Airbags, Factory Alarm, ABS Brakes, Carbon Fiber Front Splitter, Center Console Storage, Cruise Control, Dual Climate Control, Cloth Floormats, Fog Lights, GPS, Heated Seats, Heads-Up Display, HID Headlights, Homelink, Keyless Entry, Power Windows/Locks/Mirrors, Power/Memory Seats, Rear Window Defrost, Selective Ride Control, Bose AM/FM/CD/XM Stereo, Tilt/Telescoping Steering, Tinted Glass, Traction Control, Factory Alloy Wheels (18″ – F & 19″ – R), and New Michelin ZR-Rated Tires! Do your research and you will find that NADA, CPI Black Book, and Hagerty all have this ZR1 valued well above our asking price. From our experience this pricing strategy always translates into a quick sale … which coincidentally is our goal. Be this first to jump on this opportunity before it gets away!
