2000 Toyota Tacoma Xtracab SR5 – It’s a given that Toyota makes tough, high-quality trucks. The basic Tacoma pickups offer economy and value and those Toyota attributes of quality, durability and reliability. There’s something for everybody in the Tacoma line-up. If you want something a little more rugged in appearance and performance you might want to look at a Tacoma PreRunner. These 2WD trucks feature an off-road suspension. In 2000 they were available in either regular cab or the extended Xtracab configurations. Buyers coule choose between a 2.7-liter inline-4 and a 3.4-liter V6. Tacoma’s interior is straightforward. The instruments are large and easy to read, the controls well placed and functional. Standard interior features include carpeting, two auxiliary power outlets, dual cup holders, a diver-side footrest, and adjustable front seatbelts. There are bigger trucks on the market (including Toyota’s full-sized Tundra), and there are more powerful trucks. But there are few trucks that offer the combination of style, comfort, and rugged performance you find in the Tacoma Xtracab.
The first thing people say when they see this Toyota on our showroom floor is, “…that thing looks brand new…”. Although it’s now 22 years old, it has only 40k miles, so it should look new. But, looks aren’t always everything on an older vehicle. What the pictures won’t tell you is this this truck has always been garage kept, was owned by non-smokers, and it hasn’t been ravaged by large pets and little kids. The Imperial Jade Mica paint is in almost flawless condition with exception of a few very small chips on the front lip of the hood and on the rear edge of the camper shell. The engine bay is immaculate, the interior is spotless, the tires are new, and everything works like it should. If you are a fan of the early Tacomas, you have an almost impossible time finding another one this nice. Even if you just want a great running and respectable looking “truck”, you can get much nicer for only $23,900 these days. A complete list of features and options includes; 2.7L 4 Cyl, Auto, 2wd, Deluxe Sport Package ($1,664), Guard Protection Group ($619), A/C, ABS Brakes, Cloth Floormats, Chrome Bumpers, Drop-in Bedliner, Owners Manual, Window Sticker, Power Steering/Brakes, Factory AM/FM/Cassette/CD, Rear Jump Seats, Running Boards, Sliding Rear Window, Tilt Steering, Tinted Windows, Color-matched Leer 700 Tonneau Cover, Tow Package, Tire Tools, Spare Tire, 15″ Factory Alloy Wheels, and thick Cooper Discoverer 235/75/R15 Tires!
