Description

1997 Ford F-250 SD Crew Cab – The tenth generation of the Ford F-Series is a line of pickup trucks produced by Ford from 1995 to 2004; it was sold from model years 1997 to 2004. In a major product shift in the Ford truck lineup, the F-250 and F-350 were split from the F-150. Beginning production in early-1998 (model year 1999) the newly branded Super Duty trucks had a distinct body and chassis, while still branded as F-Series trucks. With the initial introduction of the new F-Series, only the F-150 was produced. To bridge the gap between the F-150 and the previous generation heavier-duty models (to be replaced by the Super Duty series for 1999), the light-duty F-250 was produced as a temporary model for 1997-1999. While externally similar to the F-150 (with the exception of its 7-lug wheels), the F-250 gained increased load capability from a heavy-duty rear axle and load-leveling rear suspension. This meant there were two 1997 F-250 models. The light-duty F-250 was based on the new F-150. The F-250 HD (Heavy Duty) was in the same series as the F-350, continuing the old body style from the previous generation for a final model year. After the release of the Super Duty version in 1999, the light-duty version of the F-250 was discontinued.

This exceptional F-250 Heavy Duty is the truck you want! And it’s not just pretty to look at. These 1997 trucks featured the famous 7.3L Powerstroke diesel that many argue to be the best diesel built in recent years. The previous owner of this truck purchased it just slightly used in 1998 and it stayed in his family until we purchased it. It was used for his commuted to and from his electrician company and never saw heavy use nor towing. The bed was scratched some and we did install a high-end bedliner to prevent future damage. There were also just enough scrapes and dings on the driver side for us to justify repainting the entire left side. The truck has never been in an accident, flood, hail storm, etc. It shows extremely well and with exception of just a few carpet stains, it is very clean. We have put about 1k miles on this F250 and it drives great. The only areas needing attention are the rear window (need new motors) and the front tank is bad. This is a LOT of truck for under $15k and give you all the room, power, longevity, and good looks as you will get when you spend $80k+ on a brand new F250. A complete list of features and options include; 7.3L Powerstroke V8, Auto, 2wd, Crew Cab, A/C, ABS Brakes, Center Console Storage, Cruise Control, Cloth Floormats, Owners Manual, Power Windows/Locks/Mirrors, Power Lumbar Seat, Factory AM/FM/Cassette, Prodigy Bake Controller, Tilt Steering, Tinted Windows, Chrome Bumpers, Chrome Mirrors, Chrome Grill Guard, CARR Entry Steps, Spray-in Bedliner, Tow Package, Full Spare, 16″ Factory Alloy Wheels, and Thick 235/85/R16 Tires!
