1970 Ford F100 LWB – While Ford’s line of light duty trucks looked to be all new in 1967, it was actually based on the previous generation’s architecture from 1961 through 1966, only with new styling. Prominent features included a pronounced horizontal crease that bisected the bodywork, straight-edged wheel well openings, and a more intricate grille assembly. Trim levels were standard cab, Custom Cab, and Ranger. Powertrain availability continued from the previous year, but in 1968 the V-8 engine options were significantly changed. The 352-cid Y-block was dropped, replaced with 360- and 390-cid V-8s. Also for 1968, like all vehicles sold in the U.S., the F-100 now had side marker reflectors; on each side, one was on the lower rear corner of the box side and one integrated into the side hood emblem. The small-block 302 V-8 was added to the option list for 1969; while 1970 saw both a new grille structure and the introduction of a now popular series, the XLT—specifically the Ranger XLT.
It is well known that classic trucks has steadily risen to the top of the market as the most highly desirable vehicles to own. As several classic trucks have come out of hiding to fulfill all the demand, often many examples lack any personality. This amazing example definitely has a unique look that sets it apart from the crowd. As seen in the photos the exterior has a great patina and sports an impressive Matco Tools logo on each door. The red rims, chrome center caps, and wide white wall tires are a great addition and tie in well with the rest of the exterior. On the inside you will find subtle additions that are perfect for this truck. The dash, door panels, headliner, and bench were all covered in a comfortable black vinyl with red stitching. On the glovebox door you will find autographs from Matco-sponsored NHRA driver Antron Brown and his Crew Chief. Additional feature and options include; 302 V8, Chrome Valve Covers & Air Cleaner, Headers, C4 Automatic (freshly rebuilt w/warranty), Lowered Suspension, Chrome Front Bumper, Chrome Mirrors, Chrome Grill, Tinted Glass, Retro AM/FM Radio, Tire Tools, 16″ Steelies, and Thick American Classic Wide White-wall Tires!
